Spirit of Liberty Foundation Creates the Spirit of Liberty Sculpture; A Gift to Paris as part of “Americas Tribute to Paris”
One hundred and thirty years ago France gave America the Statue of Liberty. The statue has become the symbol of Liberty for the World.
Today America will now give France the uplifting Spirit of Liberty Sculpture that, appropriately, is an uplifting symbolic representation embodying the Human Spirit dedicated to “mankind’s spirit of liberty to overcome adversity and rise above.”
This Sculpture will be a gift to Paris to be placed in a public site as a “Shrine of Remembrance” for the November 13, 2015 barbaric assault on civilized mankind, and as a lasting tribute of America’s friendship.
America’s leading Classical Fine Art Sculptors are being invited to create designs for the Sculpture. The final design will embody the Human Spirit as symbolized in what will be named, the Spirit of Liberty Sculpture.
The gift of the Spirit of Liberty Sculpture will be a lasting gift of friendship to Paris.
The final designs and the models of the Sculpture will be unveiled as part of the Tribute/gala exhibition.
America’s Tribute To Paris
“America’s Tribute to Paris,” is a Tribute to Paris and the victims of the November 13, 2015 will be a Tribute to Parisian victims of the barbaric acts of terrorism and a celebration of the enduring Franco-American bond of freedom and brotherhood.
France is America’s longest-standing ally. The barbaric terrorist attacks of November 13, 2015, were an assault on the liberty and freedom of free people across the globe.
American artists and civic leaders, whose achievements are made possible by the values of both America and France for individual liberty and tolerance, will participate. Their support will demonstrate their resolve and solidarity with Parisians in the face of a barbaric assault on freedom.
Again this Tribute will underscore the unbreakable bond between French and American people as well as the commitment that Americans and all free people have made to ensure that Paris, the City of Light and world center of artistic and intellectual imagination, can never be diminished by acts of terror.
The Tribute will be a positive upbeat, heartfelt message of friendship and will not dwell on the tragedy itself, but only on America’s undying support for Paris, now and forever.
The Tribute/Gala will, in addition to performing artists, be complemented by a quality museum exhibition of fine art and fashion, created by America’s leading artists and designers created specifically for the Tribute.
Additionally, a Sculpture entitled the Spirit of Liberty’s gift to Paris, will be unveiled at the Gala.
The Exhibition and Gala will be held at a leading Parisian museum, currently we are in negotiations with the prestigious d’Orsay Museum which we hope will be the venue. A private, VIP opening reception will introduce and open the program to the general public.
Tribute dates will be the weekend November 13, 2016 with the Gala/Performance on Monday, November 14, 2016, to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the tragedy.
“America’s Tribute to Paris” will include the participation of the United States Ambassador to France, the Hon. Jane Hartley.
The Gala will be videotaped, edited and provided to French, European and American television networks.
Leading American and French Companies and Organizations will be invited to participate in the Tribute.
